The Browerville Tigers football season came to an end last Friday as they were defeated in the Section 5A Championship game at the Fargodome by the KMS Fighting Saints. The Tigers played a flawless game through the first two and one-half quarters and built a 22-6 lead. KMS took control of the game and scored on their last three possessions to take the lead 24-22 and deny the Tigers the section championship. The Tigers finished the season with a 9-2 record.

Temperatures reaching into the mid-80’s are cutting a lot of hunting trips short with successful hunters looking for cooler spaces for their meat. Mark Parteka, owner of Parteka Meats in Browerville, said normally hunters trickle in with their deer over several days but this year he was full with 150 plus deer in his cooler by Sunday evening.

November 10, 1949
The Browerville Baseball Club and the High School Football Club, both “Champs for 1949,” were treated Wednesday evening, November 9, by the Browerville Commercial Club at a dinner given at the Horseshoe Lake Pavilion. The wives and girlfriends of commercial club members and also of the members of the two “championship clubs” will be in attendance at the dinner.

An important broadcast featuring National Commander George N. Craig will be aired over the National Broadcasting Company’s network from 9:45 to 10 p.m., Armistice day, November 11. The program is entitled “Pro and Con.” National Commander Craig will discuss the responsibility of veterans in peacetime economy as well as in national emergency.
