When most people think of Christmas shopping, they probably don’t think of a feed store as a great source of gifts. Maybe they should. The ever-expanding Farmer’s Co-op Feed Store in Browerville is more than your average livestock production center. First organized into a cooperative in the 1950’s, the modern Farmer’s Co-op Feeds has come a long way from its origins.

The Browerville Tigers boys basketball team opened their 1999-2000 season with a victory over the Bertha-Hewitt Bears last Tuesday night, 52-49. The boys teams played well. The Tigers jumped out early and never trailed. Bertha stayed in contention but good ball play from the Tigers held them off.

On Saturday evening, December 10, Mrs. Eli Lucas, Browerville, was announced the winner of a new 1950 custom model Shelvado refrigerator given away by Browerville Hardware as part of a giant national “giveaway” conducted by the Crosly Division, Avco Mfg. Corp., and its distributors and dealers throughout the country.

William Kuntz, center for the Browerville High School football team which is the champ for the current season of the Park Region Conference, has been named to the all state six man football team for 1949. Another member of this year’s champ team, Harold Gorman, received honorable mention.
