Township elections will be held next Tuesday, March 14, for voters in our county’s rural areas. Township officers will be elected and annual town meetings will be held. Most town boards use the occasion to set their annual budgets. In Ward Township, voters will also decide if off-sale liquor and Sunday liquor will be sold in the township. Gabriel Farago is the new owner of the Horseshoe Lake Ballroom and Supper Club. The new business will be called ‘Gabriel’s’ and Farago hopes to sell Sunday and off-sale liquor.

About four hundred patrons, stockholders and friends of the Browerville Farmers Cooperative Creamery attended the annual creamery meeting held at St. Peter’s Church basement last Thursday to hear the report on a good year’s business. The report, issued by Secretary John Gmyrek, showed that the sale of dairy products by patrons of the Browerville Creamery had yielded them an income of $434,283.26, while the actual total pounds of butter made was more than the previous year; the price received for it was considerably less.
