25 Years Ago

November 23, 1995

The third-grade biology class at Christ the King School was getting some real hands-on experience in anatomy with the help of a model human skeleton and a fresh deer skeleton donated by Chuck Buhl. The class included: Ann Marie Perish, Megan Johnson, Leah Ernst, Tyler Hoelscher, Lee Lemm, Nick Johnson and Jesse Pollack.

The 1995 Tigers football team compiled a 10-2 overall record in route to their sixth straight berth in the State Tournament. The team finished second in the new Prairie Conference North and captured the Section 5-C championship with a come from behind 28-13 victory over Brandon-Evansville at the Fargo Dome. Karl Kellen, Jeff Werder, Chris Massmann and Jason Noska were selected to the All-Conference team. Matt Katterhagen, Kurtis Foote and Kevin Zetah were Honorable Mentions. Karl Kellen was also chosen as Co-Most Valuable Back in the conference.


75 Years Ago

November 24, 1945

The first basketball practice was held on November 12 and the turnout of prospective cagers was overwhelming. No positions have as yet been filled, but the boys who are sure of plenty of action this season are: Nalezny, Meyman, Goike, Woell, Kotula, Wodash, Monnie, Hegarty, Sobota and Lemm.

The Feather Party at St. Peter’s Church was largely attended on Tuesday night. The majority of those in attendance took home a fine bird to grace their Thanksgiving table.
