It was December 6, 1965, when Roger Sadlo joined the Browerville Volunteer Fire Department. “At that time fire fighting gear was pretty much rubber raincoats and plastic helmets that melted,” recalled Roger. In 1965 the fire department had a 1934 Chevrolet fire truck that did not have a cab, just a windshield. They did not own a tanker truck and had to rely on North Star Dairy to provide a bulk milk truck to haul water. Roger retired after 30 years of service with the department.

The Tigers opened conference play on Thursday night with a victory over St. John’s Prep 76-49. The Tigers struggled in the first quarter of play as their defense couldn’t stop the Johnnies. The Tigers had four players in double figures: Brent Field with 18, Jason Noska, 11; Levin Zetah 11, and Jeff Werder added 10.

December 15, 1945
Playbooks have arrived and the seniors are busily engaged in finding a suitable cast for the presentation of “Hilarity House”. No date has been set, but in all probability, the play will be presented after the first-semester examination.

The Guild of St. Peter’s Church enjoyed an evening of social pastime at the city hall on Thursday with Mrs. William Woell and Mrs. Urban Kuntz as hostesses.
