Greg Spindler, a junior at Hamline University, received the special Lead Pipe Award for the second consecutive year in a row at the annual football banquet held on December 3. The award is given to the player who has the most big hits throughout the season on special teams. Greg has just finished his third year on the Hamline Pipers Football Team. Greg is the son of Jerry and Peggy Spindler of Browerville.

The Browerville Tigers wrestling team traveled to Belgrade on December 28 to make up a tournament that was postponed earlier. The Tigers wrestled well and placed third among eight teams. Three Tigers were individual champions in their weight classes: Adam Brown (130), Mitch Becker (140) and Ben Rolfs (hwt).

January 12, 1946
Dorothy Polak, of the Tip Toppers 4-H Club, was one of the Todd County 4-H members who recently received awards for outstanding 4-H achievements. Dorothy’s achievements were in the canning project. She received a $25 war bond awarded by the Kerr Glass Manufacturing Company for being one of the four outstanding members in Minnesota.
