Lutheran Brotherhood Friendship Branch #8617 sponsored a luncheon on May 5 at Zion Lutheran Church to raise money for the Allen and Shelly Dreher family. Their son Jamie was injured in a farm accident last winter. A total of $765 was raised to help with expenses. On June 20-22 the Special Olympic State Track and Field Events were held at the University of Minnesota. These events include hundreds of athletes from all over the state who have been training for at least an eight-week period prior to their district meets in May and are qualified to go on to the state games. Twelve athletes from the Browerville School qualified to go to these state games. They are Jeremiah Perala, Kevin Kurpiers, Carrie Strom, Greg Lamusga, Kris Galligher, Morgan Hase, Carrie Mensen, Brian Bentz, Josh Thompson, Heather Zigan, Scott Bentz and Nick Strom.

This week Manager Richard Stephan of the new Texaco Service Station in Browerville completed a thorough overhauling of the former Sinclair Station.

An unusual entertainment feature will be presented here on Thursday evening when the high school bands from Bertha, Browerville and Clarissa will join together under the direction of Glenn Anderson of Browerville and L.W. Anderson of Bertha to present a concert in the village. The group will also give a concert in Bertha, Clarissa and at the Todd County Fair.
