John Dalen is the new pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Browerville. John and Lynne Dalen and their six-month-old daughter Leandra came here in June after serving a small interdenominational congregation at the Grand Canyon in Arizona. John and Lynne both grew up in Minnesota, he in Pelican Rapids, she in Pipestone. They are happy to be back in their home state.

The Three Star Construction team placed third in the 48 team ASA Class C state tournament held in Monticello on August 17-18. Members of the team are Fred Duncan, Troy Kappahan, Mike Line, Troy Olson, Chet Hudalla, Chris Bjerke, Dave Steinmetz, Tom Ollman, Scott Zigan, Mike Steinmetz, Don Struss, Mike Johnson, and Marty Host.

Browerville’s two parochial schools, St. Joseph’s and St. Peter’s, are conforming with the general rule and that of the public school in setting the opening date of September 16, due to the prevailing polio epidemic.
