Karen Brever looked on approvingly as Joseph Meyer gave the winning ticket to Mike Salber, chairman of Christ the King Board of Education. The drawing was held Tuesday. The lucky winners were: $10,000, Rollie and Barb Spychalla; $500, Alma Lucas; and the $200 winners were Roger and Cindy Wippler, Wesley and Carl Ann Neilson, Eugene Kurpiers, Judy Walker, Kenny Ward, Lorence Line, Bernice Miller, Kim Wullet, LaVern Busch and Renee Minke.

The 1996 Browerville homecoming candidates are queen candidates: Misty Chock, Jessica Frisch, Melissa Carpenter, Gina Oven and Melissa Gritz. King candidates: Jason Noska, Andrew Sudbeck, Kurtis Foote, Eric Ostrowski and Brad Abrahamson.

John Gaida, who for the past twelve and a half years has successfully operated a grocery store in the Cech building on Main Street, this week purchased the building from the present owners, Ed Cech of this village and his brother John of Duluth. The building not only houses the Gaida Grocery Store, but also the P.N. Default Jewelry Store and the Louis Kulick Produce Co.

Members of the local bowling league met at the city hall last Thursday to perfect final arrangements for the opening of the bowling season on September 23. Officers this year are Henry Brenny, president; and Father Kraemer, secretary-treasurer. The bowling alleys at Paderewski Hall have been placed in perfect condition for the opening games on September 23.
