Blake Dixon took over as the new owner of the Knotty Pine Ballroom and Motel on May 1. Blake is kept pretty busy traveling throughout the United States doing appraisals but with the help of Julie Meyer and Tami Preiebe, he has managed to operate both the motel and the ballroom. Tami also helps with the real estate business. Blake now lives at the Browerville location and is in the process of building a real estate office there also.

The Browerville High School’s Royal Court was crowned Monday night at the school. Homecoming royalty this year were: Kurtis Foote, Melissa Carpenter, Brad Abrahamson, Misty Chock, Queen Gina Oven, King Jason Noska, Melissa Gritz, Eric Ostrowski, Jessica Frisch, and Andrew Sudbeck.

New area teachers this year are: Tammy Rachuy teaches second grade at Christ the King School; Pat Sutlief teaches ninth-grade social studies and American government at Browerville Public School; Kathy Turner teaches special education in Clarissa; Kelly Burns teaches third and fourth grade at Christ the King; Louis Draxton is a teacher’s aid at Eagle Valley, and Britt Qualley is the Spanish teacher at the Browerville School.

The internet has finally arrived in the Long Prairie-Browerville area. The Long Prairie Chamber of Commerce, the Todd County Extension Office, and the Todd County Development Corporation will jointly host an introduction “To the Internet” on September 19 at the Long Prairie City Hall with representatives from each organization as well as from Sprint United Telephone and Runestone Electric Co-op, internet service providers.
