The Todd County Sheriff’ Department is investigating the disappearance of 31 head of cattle from the James and Rebecca Pratt farm in Germania Township near Clarissa. Rebecca said they noticed the cattle missing on October 12 when they brought the herd up from pasture. They were spring calves, which don’t usually leave the cows.

Jessie Frisch and Gina Oven, seniors on the 1996 Browerville volleyball squad, were named to the All-Academic State Team. In order to be eligible to receive this award, the athlete must be a senior, must be on the varsity tournament team and have maintained a GPA of 3.8 from the beginning of their sophomore year.

The Todd County Farmers Union met on October 15 at Tibby’s Cafe in Clarissa to elect officers for the coming year. The meeting, which included dinner, was attended by about 40 people. Speakers included Minnesota Farmers Union President Dave Frederickson, Chuck Winkles, MN Farmers Union Field Representative; and Ken Otremba, State Representative.

The W.C.O.F., a local catholic organization, will sponsor the annual Halloween Party at the city hall on October 27.
