The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) held a public hearing on Tri-County Health Care (TCHC) and the move into their new facility.
The public hearing was held, as per law, to inform the public but not to change, delay or prevent the proposed changes, closures, or relocations.
Stacy Sjogren, management analysis and development senior consultant with MDH, moderated the online event.
Maria King, MDH health regulation director, said in June 2021 the legislature passed a law requiring public notice and a hearing before the closure of a hospital, hospital campus, relocation of services, or cessation in offering certain services, statute 144.555.
She said it was important to inform the public why the relocation is occurring and answer questions the public may have. MDH’s role in this is to ensure the hearing occurs and the public is heard. . .
