Myers charged with financial exploitation of vulnerable adults

Natasha Paige Myers of Verndale has been charged with a felony count of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

According to court documents, on December 8, 2023, Kathleen, vice president of Senior Services for Lakewood Health System, reported a discrepancy with some vulnerable residents’ accounts.

Through his investigation, a Staples Police officer learned that Natasha Paige Myers had been fired due to poor performance. After she was fired, it was discovered that Myers was collecting cash rent from a resident while she was an employee, which is against Lakewood’s policy to accept cash. There was no corresponding cash deposit or rent collected by Myers, and they pocketed $6400....
