New face for economic development

The 9th annual Todd County Development Corporation (TCDC) dinner was held at the Browerville Community Center on April 11.
It was a bitter-sweet evening as for many, this would be the last time they would have any sort of formal meeting with longtime TCDC Executive Director Rick Utech as he would be retiring in May.
Melissa Wyman will take over the reins to lead the TCDC and continue the mission which is to “promote and sustain diverse economic development through education, training and technical assistance that improves the quality of life in Todd County.”
The keynote speaker after the dinner was Ben Winchester who spoke about rewriting the rural narrative.
His emphasis was on the “Rural Brain Gain” instead of the death and doom and gloom “brain drain” that has typically been associated with rural areas....
