Next generation takes over Eagle Lanes
by Erika Baker
The bowling alley, located in Eagle Bend, has some new and exciting changes coming in the near future along with a new owner, Scott Woida.
Eagle Lanes Bowling Alley was not something that Scott planned on owning one day. In fact, when the previous owners, Scott’s parents, Al and Betty Woida, came to him asking if he would buy and take ownership Scott’s first answer was a quick “No!”
It wasn’t until Al expressed to Scott that he and Betty did not want to move. Their house is literally part of the bowling alley. It’s all connected.
Scott took this into consideration and explained, “The main reason I’m taking over is so my parents have a place to live and I can run the business. Also, we have a family gathering spot. My secondary reasons are to bring people to Eagle Bend and see the community grow.”
Al and Betty bought Eagle Lanes in May of 1993 from Ted and Audrey Asmus. Over the years the lanes held many events including various tournaments, leagues, moonlight bowling, and open bowling. . .
