The outdoor ice rink in Long Prairie is ready for skaters to enjoy this winter season.
This year the rink is bigger and better with a size of 200 x 100 feet. It took 60,000 gallons of water to fill.
They held a soft opening of the rink on December 27, thanks to volunteers who helped to clear the snow.
“After about six hours of shoveling, snow blowing and four-wheeling the snow off the ice, Harley VanRuler went out and zambonied the ice twice,” explained Luan Thomas-Brunkhorst, director of the Long Prairie Chamber of Commerce.
The Lennes Family (Hayley & Rae/110 Coffee/Lennes Electric) stopped by to skate and help with the snow removal by shoveling and blowing snow. . .
