Pirates close regular season with huge win over Wildcats

On Senior Night, the Verndale Pirates defeated the Long Prairie/Grey Eagle Thunder 58-35.

The Pirates honored their seven seniors: Katie Blaha, Sarah Elfstrum, Taylor Johnson, Reagen Ludovissie, Alyssa Ostlund, Olivia Stanley, and Mallory Uselman.

Shooting 5 for 5, Katie Blaha scored the first 14 points for the Pirates.

At halftime, the Pirates were up 41-12. Verndale played a more stagnant second half. They committed 18 total turnovers, but forced 22 Thunder turnovers.

Blaha finished with 26 points, while Reagen Ludovissie added 23....
