Pirates compete at Double Eagle

On Tuesday, September 24, the Verndale Pirates cross country team competed in the Bertha-Hewitt Sports Booster Invitational hosted at the Double Eagle Golf course.

We competed against teams from Bertha-Hewitt, New York Mills, Alexandria Community Christian, United North Central and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle.

It was a wonderful day for a race on a fairly flat course. This is also the course we will be running this year for 6A conference on Tuesday, October 15.

Competing for the junior high girls 2 mile run were Aaliyah Bailey with a finishing time of 19 minutes and 51 seconds, and Heta Tervola Hultberg with a time of 20 minutes and 39 seconds....
