Pirates defeat Wolverines in close clash

Above, #00 Zain Waldahl struggled as he tried to make it around his Wadena-Deer Creek defender. Waldahl added 4 points in the game against the Wolverines helping the Pirates to their narrow win over their neighbors by a score of 49 to 45. Waldahl also had 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block for the night.

Wadena-Deer Creek 45

On Thursday, January 30, the Verndale Pirates Boys Basketball team hosted the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines and won by a score of 49-45.

Carter White had 14 points and 7 rebounds for the Pirates while Shawn Schmitz scored 10 points, had 8 rebounds and had 3 steals on the night.

Bryce Pickar grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 9 points on the night.
