Pirates deflect the Arrows

Last Friday the Verndale Boy’s Basketball team hit the court again after the holiday break by traveling to Ashby to play the Arrows.
Ashby came into the game with a 6-1 record. The Pirates got out to an early lead only to have Ashby climb back into the game.
Braylin DeLeon then hit a half court shot at the buzzer to go into halftime with a 35-29 lead.
Again, the Arrows were able to get themselves back into the game and eventually tied the game late into the contest sending it into overtime.
The Pirates came out and scored 5 points in the first 20 seconds of overtime and didn’t look back....
