Pirates fall to Braves, defeat the Bears

The Verndale Pirates girls basketball team lost their first Park Region Conference game against the Menahga Braves 29-49.

The Pirates trailed 18-22 at halftime, but could not find an offensive rhythm in the second half.

The Pirates shot 29% from the field, while the Braves shot 35%.

The Pirates forced 21 turnovers, but committed 25.

Reagen Ludovissie led the Pirates with 12 points....
