Pirates pick up first season victory over Laporte Wildcats 37-35

The Pirates started their second round of Park Region Conference play with a 14-82 loss to the New York Mills Eagles.

The Pirates couldn’t keep up with the Eagles in transition as New York Mills scored 31 points in transition play.

Verndale’s offense was disrupted by the strength and quickness of the Eagles.

Kaija Madsen scored 6 points and had 3 steals, while Kiana Vertina pulled in 6 rebounds.
