Pirates take on Cardinals and Bears

A second half rally fell short as the Verndale Pirates girls basketball team suffered a 62-69 road loss to the Upsala Cardinals.
Upsala led 40-33 at halftime, but the Pirates had a second half spurt to grab a 50-46 lead.
Upsala was able to regain the lead and held it for the rest of the game.
The Cardinals scored 38 of their points in the paint.
The Pirates shot 33% from behind the 3 point line, while the Cardinals shot just 13%.
Reagen Ludovissie led all scorers with 25 points.
Avery Amerud added 14 points....
