Eagle Valley basketball played Osakis last Tuesday in Osakis. They have a strong team and they proved it. We began playing well in each half. The first round-ups? 6-6 with a chance to pull ahead with some free throws. We missed and they capitalized with an 8-0 run to increase their lead. At the half, we trailed 51-30.

The Sow and Grow Garden Club met at the home of Iris Greene on January 2, at 1:30 p.m. Our first meeting of the New Year. Ten members and one visitor, Iris Chandler, were present. Two of our members have gone south for the winter. Lucky them. The door prize was won by Helen Greenwaldt.

January 13, 1972
Sometime during the night of Tuesday, January 11, an attempt to enter and rob the Outlaw Store was made. Although the glass was broken from both doors and the padlock was robbed from the main door, it is believed that the would-be thieves may have been frightened away before getting into the store.

Todd County farm and rural families borrowed $784,500 from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Farmers and Home Administration in 1971, according to Carl A Bendgton, local county supervisor of the agency.
