A Russian Mig jet fighter landed in Eagle Bend a couple of weeks ago on its way to Rockford, Illinois. Dave Murch hauled the plane on a flatbed trailer from Santa Rosa, California. The 1940s plane originated from Poland and came to the United States on a container ship. This is the third Mig that Murch Trucking has hauled to Illinois where the planes are being restored and sold to Mig enthusiasts.

Hildegard Palo, formerly Hildegard Hokanson of Eagle Bend, a resident of Maple Plain and teacher at Osseo Senior High School in Osseo, is among a select group of outstanding educators chosen to participate in the Minnesota Humanities Commission’s Teacher Institute during the week of February 23-28.

February 3, 1972
Karen Crider has been named Eagle Bend School’s Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow for 1972. She was chosen on the basis of her score in a written knowledge and attitude examination taken by senior girls on December 7. She will receive a specially designed award charm from General Mills, sponsor of the annual educational program. Additionally, she is now eligible for state and national honors.

Adult evening classes offered at the Eagle Bend High School shall no longer be offered as of February 10. Not enough people signed up for the classes by that date to justify having the course. The checks of those students who did enroll shall be returned to them by mail.
