Brent Wiltermuth of Clarissa of the American Legion in Clarissa and Eagle Bend accounted that at a recent Post meeting it was voted to send a boy to the 49th annual Legion Boys State, to be held on the campus of St. Olaf College, Northfield in June. Mike Willie was named as Boys State Chairman.

Eagle Bend Police Chief Ryan VanDenheuvel helped the Eagle Valley kindergarten students with their “practice” 911 emergency calls. The students watched a video and were told about emergencies and situations when 911 should be called.

Norman V. Krause, Eagle Bend, the 19-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold V. Krause, has received the Progressive Breeder Award offered by the American Milking Shorthorn Society and presented at the annual meeting in Springfield, Missouri on April 14. This is the first time Mr. Krause has won the award.

The Eagle Bend baseball team split two games with Clarissa this past week. On Tuesday the Bucs stopped the Eagles 5-1, while on Thursday the Eagles bounced back for a 10-6 victory.
