Mike and Mary Sublet from Fairbault are the new owners and operators of Maggie’s Cafe, formerly Sir Anthony’s, on Eagle Bend’s Main Street. They are continuing with all of the former employees, hours of business, and the tradition of family home-cooked meals. The Sublet’s took possession of the restaurant from Tony and Marion Massmann on May 19.

Eagle Valley’s Post Prom was a huge success again this year. Many students and their dates enjoyed great food, fun games, and terrific prizes. With the help of many donations from around the area and great volunteer help, this party continues to provide a safe, drug-free atmosphere for our children. A few of the more than 150 prizes given: $100 Robby Henrich, Emily Boseck, Meghan Greene, Heidi Ziegenhagen, and Henry Svaren; $150 Jeremy Voge.

Rebels baseball team rebounds for two wins. The Eagle Valley Rebels Baseball team opened the week Monday at home with an embarrassing 10-0 loss to Swanville. The Rebels then rebounded for an 11-2 drubbing of Verndale, and a 10-0, five-inning win over Royalton. The Rebels' record now stands at 7-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

The first night of the Double Eagle Ladies League was on May 15. The winner of the longest drive on 7 was Jill Lubben and the longest drive on 3 was Jo Ellen Einerwold. Sandy Baso had a birdie on hole 8 and Linda Schaffer birdied on hole 3-green course. Wanda Tepley had the low net score of 32.
