The Eagle Valley Rebels football team picked up their first win of the season as they defeated the visiting Sebeka Trojans 20-16. The home opener win helped to make parent's night a success on and off the field. The Rebels scored three touchdowns in the first half for a comfortable 20-8 lead. Quarterback Billy Zeidler completed two passes in the drive. The first eight-yard pass to Anthony Murch was the first down.

Eagle Valley Homecoming Coronation will be held on Monday, September 22 at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Queen candidates are: Kelli Berg, Meghan Green, Crystal Yates, Jenny Erickson and Maija Wiltermuth. King candidates are: Jason Martinson, Jason Lennes, Bill Ziedler, Matt Mittag and Robby Henrich.

September 7, 1972
With the retirement of Mr. Harold Nohre, a high school math instructor for many years at Eagle Bend High School, a replacement had to be found. Mr. W.E. James, the superintendent, interviewed and attained the services of Mr. Jan A. Nygard who comes to Eagle Bend with fine recommendations. Mr. Nygard is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sigried Nygard of rural Ogema, Minnesota.

Through the efforts of the local administration and the International Fellowship, Eagle Bend Public School will have the honor of having a foreign exchange student enrolled for at least part of the 1972-73 school year. Santiago Montenegro is from Columbia, South America. He arrived at the Minneapolis airport on September 3, and was met by Mr. and Mrs. Ira Simar with whom he will be spending the first three months of his stay in Eagle Bend.
