The Eagle Bend City Council whipped through eight of the 11 items on their agenda on September 15 when they were interrupted by a 911 call that took half of the council room occupants. The irony was that Sue Ahrendt was at the council meeting and the call involved an incident outside her house. Luckily it was not a family member and they continued with her business when everyone returned.

The Eagle Valley Rebels took a 2-0 lead into the fourth quarter but the Bertha-Hewitt Bears dominated the quarter and came away with a 14-2 victory in last week’s game in Eagle Bend. This put the Rebels’ record at 1-3 on the year and the Bears moved to 4-0.

In a business transaction completed this past week, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Thompson of St. Louis Park and Mr. and Mrs. Don Thompson purchased the Clarissa Ballroom from Mrs. Ruth Kulick.

Students at Eagle Bend High School who are planning to attend college will have five opportunities to take the ACT assessment during the 1972-1973 academic year.
