Daniel A. Rabenhorst, a graduate of Eagle Valley High School, recently completed United States Marine Corps recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Sand Diego, California. During recruit training, Rabenhorst learned military customs, first aid and a variety of military related subjects designed to create the moral discipline required of all Marines.

Half a dozen parents of third graders joined the Eagle Valley School Board meeting. They are deeply concerned about their third grade children’s reading ability. According to one parent, one-third of the class is reading below grade level. We’re working hard to bring their ability up, but a summer reading program is essential. Another third grader is barely able to read kindergarten to first grade level material. Parents are assisting by reading the homework to him. They’re using hard to read photocopies instead of textbooks.

December 21, 1972
The Texas Cowgirls average age is 20 years. They now come from every state in the Union and Canada to try out for the team. They played in over 4000 games, going into their 23rd season. They usually play an average of 100 dates per season in the United States. The Texas Cowgirls basketball team will be coming to Eagle Bend, sponsored by the Eagle Bend Letterman’s Club, with the game to be played at the Eagle Bend High School gymnasium.

The first home wrestling match to be held in the Eagle Bend system will take place this Friday, December 22, beginning at approximately 1:30 p.m.
