The girls lost one and won one for the week. Last Tuesday the girls' basketball team took on the Osakis Silverstreaks in a conference matchup. Osakis, who is rated fifth in the state Class A and is the conference favorite, came out hot, jumping out to an early lead 28-17 at halftime. The second half saw Osakis build their lead to 15 before a few steals by Sara Johnson cut the lead to 8 in the fourth quarter. This was as close as Eagle Valley would get, losing by a score of 50-40.

We traveled to Osakis on January 6, and ran into a very rugged first half and found ourselves down by 27 points at halftime. We will give Osakis much of the credit as they came out and played very well but at the same time, we gave them way too many easy baskets which will build a team’s confidence.
