The Burleenette Homemakers met at the home of Ethel Pooler on February 9 at 1:30 p.m. Roll call was answered by five members by adding two lines to the poem “Roses are red, violets are blue....very interesting!” President Rosamond conducted a very busy meeting. Reports were given by Ethel, Millie and Doris. Discussions on fair exhibits, the spring luncheon, trips and future lesson possibilities were discussed.

According to the figures in the Village Financial Statement submitted in this issue of the news, the Eagle Bend Municipal Liquor Store showed a substantial increase in net profit for the year 1956 over that of 1955.

A business transaction took place the past week in which Carl and Gladys Dettinger sold their grocery store to Marvin and Violet Hess. The parties involved stated that it happened so fast, about the only way to explain it is: the buyer made an offer to the seller which was accepted and a transfer was made.
