If you still know the words to “Heartbreak Hotel”, “Jailhouse Rock” or “All Shook Up”...all the hits by the late Elvis Presley, then you’ve got to circle Saturday, April 4, on your calendars and be ready to take a trip down memory lane. The Eagle Bend Fire Department and Relief Association is sponsoring a concert featuring Richard Anthony and his “Tribute to Elvis”. Anthony’s performances have garnered him “Number one in show and entertainment for a non-recording artist” in both 1996 and 1997 from the prestigious Billboard Magazine.

George Etzell, Republican National Committeeman from Clarissa, recently was named chairman of the committee on Republican goals, a key post at the regional Republican Conference to be held in Omaha on April 12 and 13.

The American Legion and Auxiliary who sponsored the “Boys and Girls Country”, stated that the following Eagle Bend students will attend the session at the courthouse in Long Prairie on Thursday, April 4: Dorothy Weigand, Ann Arvidson, Bernice Notch, Judy Listoe, Joyce Wallenberg, Dick Bjerkaas, Jim Bergstrom, Delton Nack, Norman Wettstein and John Sinotte.
