The issue of Northland Dairy’s billboard was finally resolved at the June council meeting. After listening to adjacent landowners complain once more about the size of the sign, the council voted reluctantly, but unanimously, to approve the ‘after the fact’ variance to allow the 12’ x 28’ sign. Jerry Pachan, who lives directly across from the sign, was the most vocal in his displeasure of it. His biggest complaint was that the sign is too big to be in city limits. Aspengren said he didn’t think the additional four feet was really the issue, and taking four feet off the sign wouldn’t change anyone’s attitude toward it.
