News from Eagle Bend's Past

Carrol Peterson, owner of Sew N Such in Eagle Bend, has closed her doors as of this week. Although the fabric store will be turned into a computer store with a new owner, Peterson will continue sewing and doing alterations in her home. Items may be dropped off at Eagle Bend Floral and Gifts. The store has also served as a drop spot for the Independent News Herald. There is now a drop box at Lake Country State Bank for news and ads.

A 1902 postcard from Eagle Bend was mailed by Paul E. Nelson to his friend in Scotland. Elaine and Haakon Christofferson were searching for information on her grandfather. Unfortunately, the postcard turned out to be “just a coincidence.” The Christoffersons spent part of their Thursday at the Eagle Bend Museum with no success again. Haakon said they were lucky to find so many friendly, helpful people.
