Beryl Irish, Eagle Bend, was the lucky winner of the hand embroidered youth-sized quilt embroidered by Alice Decker, quilted by Bernice Pearson and edged by Carrol Peterson. Thank you to all who bought and sold the tickets. The fundraiser was sponsored by the Eagle Bend Historical Society.

The Eagle Valley Rebels volleyball team traveled to Swanville last week to open conference action. The Rebels beat Swanville in three straight games, 15-3, 15-4 and 15-3. The Rebels took control early and did not let Swanville back in the match.

Mr. George Stanley, who recently purchased the Marshall-Wells store of Eagle Bend from Mr. Clinton Sinotte, has announced his grand opening to be held Friday, September 20, with free coffee and donuts for all.

Mrs. Ileen Naley, Eagle Bend, new home agent for Todd County, has had broad experience in home economics and 4-H club work. Mrs. Naley joined the county extension staff on September 12, with headquarters in the county extension office in Long Prairie. As home agent, she will work on the home economics extension program and will assist in the 4-H program.
