On November 24, Eagle Valley went to Menahga to play their first basketball game of the 1998-99 school year. The Rebels had a good man-to-man defensive effort in the first half and despite a three-quarter court desperation shot by Menahga, ending the first half, they led by six points 24-18. The Rebels held on to win by six points 51-45. The Rebels played good defense, stealing the ball 25 times with Jessica Serbus leading the team with 9. Susie Hayes lead the team in rebounding with 10.
