Dale Greenwaldt presented Don Hanson, retiring chairman of the Eagle Valley School Board, with a plaque of appreciation for his years of service to the district.

The Rebels Sports Boosters and the wrestling team held their annual wrestling invitational on December 19 in Eagle Bend. The boosters club did a great job of running the tournament without any problems. The Rebels wrestling ream placed 8th with Andy Kuperus at 171 pounds placing in the top four.

December 26,1957
A car driven by James Varil of New Ulm, teacher at Red Lake Falls, hit an icy strip on Highway 71 about two miles southeast of Eagle Bend last Saturday and rolled over and ended up in the brush on the north side of the road. The car, appearing to be damaged beyond repair, was towed into Browerville. The driver escaped with minor head injuries.

The special December bow and arrow deer hunt at Camp Ripley resulted in 43 deer being taken, reported Lyle Blankenship, big game biologist.
