25 Years Ago

January 13, 1999

On January 8, the Todd County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at a residence in Eagle Bend. As a result, officers recovered the computer equipment that had been stolen from the Eagle Bend Library. Arrested in connection with the theft were Randy Jo Toups, 25, also known as Dave Bostic, and David Lee Blanshan, 19, who had been living in Eagle Bend.

The Todd County Board of Commissioners presented Todd County Auditor Joyce Rosenow with a plaque honoring him for his 12 years of exemplary service to the county. Presenting the plaque was Board Chair Tony Haasser. Rosenow left office at the end of December but will come back to help with the transition that will combine the auditor and treasurer’s department into one office.


50 Years Ago

January 17, 1974

The Eagle Bend High School basketball team won their first game of the season on Friday by defeating the Grey Eagle Eagles by a score of 55 to 41. The victory enabled the Eagles to move their conference record to one win and one loss.

The Eagle Bend Volunteer Fire Department answered a fire call at approximately 11:20 p.m. last Tuesday night when a vehicle was reported on fire on the county road between the Delbert Taber farm and the Art Eckel farm. Considerable damage was done to the vehicle.
