Don and Chris Kassube, representing the Eagle Valley Sports Boosters, presented garment bags to the Eagle Valley School for use by the various sporting teams including: girls and boys basketball, wrestling and volleyball. The bags were manufactured locally at Battle Lake Outdoors of Clarissa.

Should 14-year-old Lee Morgan be prosecuted in adult criminal court on arson and murder charges? More than 2000 Minnesota high school students will take on the roles of defendant, prosecutors, defense attorneys and witnesses to argue this in “waiver hearings” during the 1999 Mock Trial Competition. The Eagle Valley Mock Trial team includes: Alyssa LaVoie, PattiJo Johnson, Jill Schultz, Jill Booker, Missy Supper, Jackee Svaren, Amber Benning, Amanda Hubbard, Kyle Green, JoDee Hlatky and Melissa Prather.

After a count of ballots by the Eagle Bend Education Association, it was revealed that Mr. Don Cassidy, high school English instructor, had been selected to represent the Eagle Bend faculty as their representative for the 1974 Minnesota Teacher of the Year program that is co-sponsored by the Minnesota State Fair and the Minnesota Education Association.

Several area people have received invitations to attend a reception at the opening of an exhibit of paintings of “Isle of Wright County” painted by Cynthia (Roach) Haack.
