An Amphibian Trunk from the Science Museum was at the Eagle Valley School on Friday, February 19. Julia Cuchna instructed students from each elementary grade level for about an hour for each class. The students learned about different kinds of frogs, salamanders and other amphibians.

Eagle Valley sixth grade students were busy last week teaching their underclassmen about automobile safety. Demonstrations were given by the Kids Teaching Kids student teachers about what happens in a car accident and they stressed the importance of wearing a safety belt.
50 Years Ago
February 21,1974
The ice racers were off and running at a very fast pace last Sunday. The warm temperatures all during the month of February have all but eliminated the banks of snow surrounding the track. The bare spot of dirt and gravel that have appeared around the track have been used by the racers to greatly increase their speed.

On February 15, a car driven by Mrs. Bruce (Liz) Westergren of Eagle Bend collided with a Burlington-Northern train on Central Avenue in Eagle Bend. The Westergren car was considered a total loss and Mrs. Westergren suffered minor injuries. George Codden of Sauk Centre, engineer of the train, was uninjured, but $150 worth of damage was done to the engine.
