Members of the Eagle Valley Area Community Uniting for Youth (C.U.Y.) have begun planning this year’s community service week, tentatively set for the week of April 19-24. C.U.Y. was organized in November 1996 to promote and provide for healthy development of youth in the Eagle Valley area. Last year’s community service week brought together 4-H clubs, church and school groups and adults in a fix-up, clean-up week in both Eagle Bend and Clarissa.

The Eagle Valley Danceline held their Parent’s Night and Awards Night last Friday evening at the Eagle Valley Elementary School. A large crowd attended the dancers performance. The performance is also used to raise funds for the dancers to buy their uniforms. Julia Moen performed in spite of a broken toe. She did a solo presentation.
March 7, 1974
Young men born in 1955 will have their Selective Service lottery numbers drawn on March 20, even though there is no draft or plans to resume call-ups for military service, Colonel Robert P. Knight, State Director of Selective Service for Minnesota, announced.
