25 Years Ago

May 12, 1999

The Eagle Bend community had the opportunity to meet Anthony Pangal at an open house on Sunday at the Vet’s Club. Pangal is Eagle Bend’s new chief of police. His first day on duty was April 19. Pangal hails from St. Paul. He served four years and seven months with the St. Paul Police Department.

Eagle Valley first grade students honored their mothers for Mother’s Day on Friday, May 7 by hosting a short program and tea for them. The students sang, told jokes and stories and were read to by their mothers in the two programs put on by Mrs. Wendel’s class in the morning and Mrs. Taylor’s class in the afternoon.


45 Years Ago

May 16, 1979

A special election for the voters of Burleene Towhship will be held between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, for the purpose of voting for and electing one township supervisor for a three-year term and one township clerk for a two-year term.

Thirty members of the Class of 1974 of the Eagle Bend High School will participate in their final ceremonies as high school students this Friday evening.
