The Friday Daytimers Independent News Herald bowling team took first place honors for the year and were honored at their banquet held last Friday. The team consists of Sharon Harris, Vinnie Whitaker, Mary Ann Lovelace and Kelly Harris. Substitutes were Shirley Farrell and Verneil Thompson.

The Eagle Valley High School Drama Club presented their spring play on May 11 in the high school auditorium. It was a fun melodrama with the typical villain and sweet heroine. The cast included students from several grade levels. Carlie Booker was the student director and David Winkler, the club’s president, was a member of the crew, actor and general “all around everything guy.”

Eagle Valley science students received awards last week. Rebecca Pearson received the Bausch and Lomb Award, Alyssia LaVoie received the Engineering Award and Amber Benning and Eric Denny received the Radio Shack Award. These awards are given to seniors who excelled in the sciences.

On Wednesday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m., the boys were back belting out their music at the Germania Hall. The boys are the members of the little band who built the hall, then charged 25¢ per person to come and dance. The Centre Squares from Sauk Centre, with Norb Ebnet and guest Elmer Clark as callers, entertained 50 plus people with music and square dancing.
