25 Years Ago

May 26, 1999

Mikey Romstad is Eagle Valley Elementary’s Outstanding Layperson in Education. Her passion for books and reading and learning have been evident for the past 12 years. Nancy Johnson is the high school Outstanding Layperson in Education. She is the secretary-receptionist for the high school and has been employed by the school for 23 years.

The Rebels softball sub-section 24 champions were escorted through Clarissa and Eagle Bend after their triumph over Wadena-Deer Creek on Thursday, May 20. The girls now move on to Section 6A play in Albany on Tuesday.


45 Years Ago

March 28, 1979

Two Eagle Bend High School wrestlers, Ron Moller and David Johnson, placed in the top three in their weight classes in the AAU sectional tournament at Alexandria last Saturday. They now advance to the AAU State Jr. Olympics Tournament at Burnsville on Saturday, June 1.

Police Officer Virgil Hokanson received a Certificate of Graduation from the Regional Basic Police Science Course, Class 67 of the Alexandria Technical School on May 17.
