25 Years Ago

August 4, 1999

  The Eagle Valley School District is selling the low power television tower to Commsite Towers, Inc. The tower was used for an interactive television station that benefited the Eagle Bend, Clarissa and Bertha-Hewitt schools. The tower was in use from January 1981 through 1997. The closing date is August 30.

Doug and Mary Lou Sapp were Tuesday afternoon callers at the home of Anna Mae Jackson. Also, Mrs. Gregg Beaudoin from Elk River was a Tuesday afternoon visitor at the home of Elouise Clementson. 

45 Years Ago

August 8, 1979

Miss Beverly Nordstrom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nordstrom, and LuAnn Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Peterson, all of Eagle Bend, were among the students to qualify for the dean’s list from Moorhead State College.

The 1974 Eagle Bend High School football practice opens on Monday, August 12. The Eagles will practice twice a day, at seven in the morning and seven in the evening.
