Ryan Tuorila has joined the Eagle Valley High School staff as a 7th-12th grade math teacher. If the name sounds a little familiar that’s because his aunt is the well-known and well-liked Mrs. Tuorila from Eagle Valley Elementary.

The Eagle Valley football team scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and two more in the second as they defeated the Sebeka Trojans 46-12 in a non-conference game at Sebeka last Thursday evening. Isaiah Godding scored on a 57 yard touchdown on the second play of the game to get the Rebels off to an explosive start. Josh Motl ran over the twopoint conversion.

George Orcutt, who is presently a patient at the Bertha Memorial Community Hospital, came home to Eagle Bend to vote in the primary election on Tuesday. George, who is 82, has never missed going to the polls and despite his present illness, didn’t miss this one.

Lions Committee members Earl Mathison, Tom Weibye and Dennis Johnson presented Mayor John Reid a sample of their “Keep Eagle Bend Clean” projects. The Lions painted six trash containers, which will be placed at various locations around Eagle Bend. The maintaining would be done by Loy White of Eagle Bend. All of the local Lions members urge Eagle Bend residents to use these containers.
