Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a park in Eagle Bend where the whole family could go? Such a place is in the planning stages by the Eagle Bend Area Development Corporation. At the present time the recreational areas in Eagle Bend are scatted all over town. Kay Nelson was interested in selling what use to be their pasture on the east side of 3rd Avenue Southwest.

Petty Officer Third Class Bonnie Beach, United States Navy, daughter of Virginia and Roger Beach of rural Eagle Bend, has received commendation from one of her superior officers. Admiral Sutton from Commander Amphibious Group Two presented her with a certificate and Surface Warfare Specialists’ designation.

Randy Maland of Eagle Bend High School was named to the WCCO Radio All-State Football Team of the Week on Thursday night during the station’s “Pep Parade” Program.

The Eagle Bend Commercial Club, in cooperation with the local school system, has formed an Adult Distributive Education Advisory Committee. This committee will assist in determining what classes in sales and marketing and/or management should be offered to the community. They will also keep the community informed of offerings in other area towns.
