25 Years Ago

October 20, 1999

Clayton Krause of Eagle Bend and his five-year-old red and white Holstein received Reserve Grand National Champion of the Junior Show at the World Dairy Expo in the Grand International Red and White Holstein Show in Madison, Wisconsin on September 30. The Holstein also placed second highest production winner in her class. Both Clayton and his sister Theresa Krause competed in the Junior Showmanship contest. There were 77 entries and out of those 77 they were both chosen to compete in the final round of showmanship.

Cindy Kaumans has taken over as manager of Champs convenience store in Eagle Bend. Cindy and her husband Bob moved to Eagle Bend two years ago from Carlinville, Illinois. They are both pastors at the Assembly of God church.

45 Years Ago

October 24, 1979

One of the players picked for the All-State Football Team of the Week honors on WCCO radio’s “Prep Parade” program on Thursday night, October 17 was guard Bruce Moller of Eagle Bend.

Members of the Minnesota FFA Milk Quality and Dairy Foods Team were greeted in Kansas City by Mr. William Powell, president of the Mid-American Dairymen, Inc. of Springfield, Missouri. Team members Charleen Guse, Terri Peterson, Karen Krause and Ron Pooler were accompanied by their Advisor Melvin Lloyd of Eagle Bend.
