25 Years Ago

November 3, 1999

Ole Green and Merc Helgeson entertained at the Eagle Bend Senior Center on Friday as part of an Oktoberfest Celebration. Some of the senior members couldn’t resist kicking up their heels to the lively music.

The Eagle Valley Music Department presented “Pep You Up” at the high school auditorium on Monday, October 25, under the direction of LeBrun. The concert was set up like a football game to be played in four quarters, with the Star Spangled Banner as the opening song. Each quarter consisted of four upbeat songs played by the band. The fourth quarter was closed out with the band playing “On Wisconsin.”

45 Years Ago

November 7, 1979

Bruce Moller and John Pachan, a pair of senior guards, are the only two Eagle Bend Eagles on the 22 man All-Conference Team. A sophomore quarterback was involved in a tie to place on the team but lost out in the tie breaker vote.

Tickets are on sale for the Neil Simon comedy hit “Star Spangled Girl”

to be presented at the University of Minnesota, Morris, November 6-9. Among those in the cast is Norman Krause, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Krause of Eagle Bend.
